A village within a village
Mandrem is a village of lanes. Baia Villas carries that pattern into six homes, inside and out.
Mandrem is a village of lanes, where houses sit close and paths run between them. Baia Villas carries that pattern into six homes.
Footpaths connect the villas, but each one stands on its own, turning inward around a private courtyard and pool.
The courtyard sets the rhythm
Rooms face it, light falls into it, and the outdoors are never more than a step away.
Coral walls and blue doors give the cluster its colour. The forms take their cue from the Portuguese houses that populate the village.
Every room looks in towards the pool, and beyond it to the green hills.
Inside
Inside, Baia Villas keeps to the easy, vivid way life is lived in Mandrem. Solid wood furniture balances the colour and gives each room weight and calm.
Every room looks in towards the pool, and beyond it to the green hills that rise behind the village.
The details
In the master bathroom, a step-in tub is cast in situ. The second bathroom has a mosaic made for that space alone. The kitchen is built around an island, a natural place to cook, talk and linger.
Behind the gate, Mandrem carries on.

The Vale, a house that kept getting better
The second residence of the Riverside Collection: every wish for a house, and an idea that kept improving as we built it.
We kept looking up
How the birds of Siolim, and the canopy they live in, shaped Tellado Villas.
